Cellife: How It Worked For My Baby

Tuesday, September 03, 2013

Around 2 months back, Joaquin had his pedia check up & we were super pleased to hear that he turned
out to be taller than 95% of babies his age. That has been a consistent feedback ever since, & since I've always been on the short side, naturally I was more than glad of his development. However, his weight, while perfectly within the normal range, increased a little slower in proportion to his height. I've always been careful about what to feed him & he's always been exclusively breastfed (he hates formula milk & using bottles), so of course this concerned me a bit.

His doctor refused to give him appetite stimulants in the hopes that we could do something more natural first. So aside from continuing with his vitamins - Tikitiki & Ceelin - she recommended us to try Cellife. This is a herbal dietary supplement made of spirulina (a type of algae) with additional vitamins. According to her, a number of her colleagues at the St. Luke's Medical Center where we visit her clinic in, made a study about the weight gain effects of using Cellife in babies & have confirmed it's efficacy. After a month of usage, Joaquin increased a little over a full pound in weight. Good job Cellife!

available as a box of powder sachets or as capsules

We've continued to use it for another month since the doctor explained that usage is normally for minimum of 2 months to optimize its effects. We recently just finished our last box & are eager to find any changes in his weight for his upcoming doctor's regular check up. So far, I've seen no side effects aside from his urine being extra pungent. Otherwise, if you're having the same issues with your baby's weight, this is something I'd definitely recommend & you might want to inquire about this with your attending physician.

    1. Yay! Glad to hear you're seeing effects on your baby's appetite & I also hope it helps with her weight. I also tried out other appetite stimulants for my eldest when he got a bit older which also worked, especially during the periods when he was teething or pag kakagaling lang nya sa sakit, although I haven't had a chance to review them here.

Anyway, thanks for dropping by Mommy Sheila!

    1. Hi Louie,

For both my kids, their pedia recommended it to be given 3x a day - since they're already eating solids at the time of prescription, kasabay lang sya ng each meal instead of milk (so breakfast lunch and dinner). Would be better to check with your attending physician :)

    1. Hi! Yes, supposedly it has fiber so makakatulong sya sa regular bowel movement. Personally, when my kids have a hard time sa pag poop, I offer a lot of water din & papaya, helps a lot :)
