Get Your Kids Fit This Summer with PlayGym!

Summer is rolling in and it's time to make the most out of it with the kiddos! While I'm pretty sure most of us will be heading out to enjoy trips and vacations at some point, a chunk of the kids' summer will probably be dedicated to lounging around, sinking themselves in front of the TV and sleeping in. What's a good, productive alternative to get them off their tooshies? Get 'em fit while having a blast by enrolling them in PlayGym!


PlayGym is a program for kids 3-9 years old, that basically works like the kind of standard exercise routine we know -- which includes a warm up, simple circuit training, and a cool down. However, since kids are too young for weight training or any form of rigorous exercise, the activities are all disguised as play so it supposedly doesn't get boring and make the tots feel drab, and are adjusted to their developmental level to make it safe for them. For instance, your typical warm up which is usually cardio -- like treadmills or jogging -- is administered instead by letting the kids go through a simple obstacle course. The rest of the session is done by completing 6-8 stations, all approached as kid-friendly games -- like shooting hoops for 30 secs, which exercises a particular muscle group while the little one has fun.

You can enroll your kids to their summer program which includes eight 2-hour sessions held twice a week for only P4,000. A PlayGym uniform is also included in the package, along with a DVD of their whole play experience during the program. Classes are composed of a maximum of 10 participants at a time so the kids each get the right amount of attention, and are offered in 2 sites: Collegio de San Agustin in Makati, & Celebrity Sports Plaza in Q.C.
